Prime Planet is a Miami-based snack brand known for its crunchy, delicious plantain chips (tostones.) As brand manager, I oversaw all brand communications, including website buildout, social media, and blogs for the company. Our goal was to reposition the brand and the food product itself, tostones, from a traditional Hispanic side dish and snack to a universal Gluten-Free and Vegan alternative to traditional corn and potato chips.

Prime Planet’s website is a burst of contrasting colors and a feast for the eyes with a robust B2B strategy in disguise. Front and center, below the main nav, you can choose your adventure. Should I try a few packs or buy a few pallets? Prime Planet is an all-natural, Certified Vegan, Gluten-Free, Kosher, and NON-GMO alternative to the sleazy, greasy potato chip. With the elegant silhouette of a banana leaf, it has emblazoned full bleed across the home page and the story of a brand determined to keep its list of ingredients short without skimping on freshness and taste. The Prime Planet website is immersive and as vibrant as a bag of its lime-flavored tostones.

The Prime Planet blog is an informative, entertaining, and keyword-enriched resource. Thanks to the stellar collaboration between the copywriters and the SEO team, we created insightful and entertaining content and helped drive sales through the roof!
SOCIAL MEDIA
Our social media content was crafted to make our crunchy, savory plantain chips a delicious and healthier alternative to a played-out, greasy bag of Lay’s—though, in fairness, they’re tasty as well, especially barbecue. Speaking of BBQ, in 2022, Prime Planet released its new Bar-B-Que flavored tostones, becoming the first plantain chip company ever to do so. This fusion of the Caribbean and the USA was exciting to work on and made me realize one thing: there are three different ways to spell barbecue, and they’re all correct!

We all know with which brands our loyalty lies. Everyone has their favorite movie theatre, ball game, and road trip snack. In my opinion, Prime Planet Lime or Sweet Chili-Flavored Tostones are a strong contender for the beach. Aside from those, I would have to say Sour Patch Kids for the movies, a juicy Nathan’s hot dog to the dome at the ball game, and Pizza-flavored Pringles for road trips. What’s your go-to snack?
